Hearing Aids

If you or someone you care about is having problems with their hearing, then Hearing Care is here to help.

Hearing aids are sophisticated microcomputers that are programmed to match your hearing. They amplify sound for your existing hearing but do not restore your natural hearing. Hearing aids come in different shapes, sizes, technology and cost. We can advise you about the best options for your hearing loss, needs and budget. The devices can sit behind the ear, in the ear or completely in the ear canal.

Behind the ear:

The hearing aid shell with the electronics inside sits behind the ear. The shell can come in many different shapes, colours and sizes.

In the ear:

The hearing aid with the electronics inside sits in the outer ear. The hearing aid can take up the whole of the outer ear or just part of it and is molded to match the shape of the individual ear.

Completely in the canal:

A small hearing aid case with all the components inside sits mostly in the middle part of the ear canal using the ear's design and ability to collect sound to improve hearing. The aid is custom-built for the individual ear. They are not suitable for people with severe hearing loss who require more powerful aids.

Testimonials

"For many years my hearing has been reduced due to earlier days of playing in bands. I decided to seek help and decided to visit Hearing Care in Whangarei. They suggested inner ear hearing aids. My clients and staff did not notice the change but I certainly did. I felt more confident and am not asking folks to repeat what they had just said."
